Specifically, he works for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.i-de.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">i-DE<\/a> (Iberdrola\u2019s distribution company), focusing on mobility, innovation, and finding new, more efficient ways of working.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grupo \u00c1lava has been collaborating with Iberdrola for many years on various projects, but in this interview, Gorka shares his personal experience. They use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flir.es\/?utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_campaign=emea.es.solutions.crsseg.t.iw.om.brand.search&amp;gclid=CjwKCAiAy_CcBhBeEiwAcoMRHMBO-CXmLSTiBspu74HR3XFJcEK6--Z4fGbyjl0UmS4Ib8EKoCE73RoCqVAQAvD_BwE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Teledyne FLIR<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/grupoalava.rearmachine.com\/tech\/nuestra-tecnologia-y-el-volcan-de-la-palma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">thermal imaging cameras<\/a> we provide for inspections at <strong>substations<\/strong>. These cameras help identify <strong>hot spots in <\/strong>the low-voltage grid, which sooner or later can lead to a power outage.    <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block stk-db87f1e\" data-block-id=\"db87f1e\"><style>.stk-db87f1e .stk-block-heading__text{font-size:14px !important}@media screen and (max-width:1023px){.stk-db87f1e .stk-block-heading__text{font-size:14px !important}}<\/style><h6 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">FROM YOUR PERSPECTIVE AT iBERDROLA, HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY?<\/h6><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are two sides to Iberdrola: Iberdrola in general, and\u2014I believe\u2014the vision it has demonstrated, for example, with <strong>renewable energy<\/strong>. At a time like this, with the war and all the uncertainty we\u2019re facing, it has largely allowed us to show that this is the path to follow. It\u2019s what we need to do\u2014both for the planet and for ourselves, as a country, to ensure our <strong>energy security<\/strong>. I believe this is the right path.     <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then, on the <strong>i-DE<\/strong> side, I think there are things we don\u2019t appreciate\u2014either because we\u2019ve forgotten about them or because we take them for granted\u2014such as the fact that when you flip a switch, the lights come on. The improvement in <strong>grid<\/strong> quality in recent years has been spectacular. This is largely thanks to technology, which has allowed us to greatly improve our <strong>reliability<\/strong> and provide a very good service. During the pandemic, for example, hospitals were given additional support. Furthermore, when a disaster strikes\u2014something technology alone cannot resolve\u2014we have a task force in the field and at control centers that goes above and beyond, and in the face of storms, floods, and other emergencies, they restore <strong>services<\/strong> in record time.      <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block stk-dc0045b\" data-block-id=\"dc0045b\"><style>.stk-dc0045b .stk-block-heading__text{font-size:14px !important}@media screen and (max-width:1023px){.stk-dc0045b .stk-block-heading__text{font-size:14px !important}}<\/style><h6 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">HOW DID THE PARTNERSHIP WITH GRUPO \u00e1lava COME ABOUT?<\/h6><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ve been working with Grupo \u00c1lava since before I even joined the company. In my own experience\u2014I\u2019ve been with the company for 8 years\u2014we started with thermal imaging cameras for mobility, back when that wasn\u2019t quite as common yet. My first contact with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/angel-lezana-garcia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00c1ngel Lezana<\/a> and Grupo \u00c1lava was actually when we purchased the CATs with built-in cameras. They explained the hardware limitations and such to us, but it served us very well for testing what we could achieve with thermal imaging in our day-to-day work. Since then, \u00c1ngel has become a key point of contact for me, and whenever we have any questions of this nature\u2014about thermography or technologies we\u2019re not experts in (since we\u2019re just users)\u2014we turn to him.    <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block stk-bf7b9ba\" data-block-id=\"bf7b9ba\"><style>.stk-bf7b9ba .stk-block-heading__text{color:#0071ce !important}<\/style><h6 class=\"stk-block-heading__text has-text-color\">Thermal imaging cameras make it possible to detect hot spots in the low-voltage power grid early on, which sooner or later could lead to a power outage.<\/h6><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block stk-8abf75b\" data-block-id=\"8abf75b\"><style>.stk-8abf75b .stk-block-heading__text{font-size:14px !important}@media screen and (max-width:1023px){.stk-8abf75b .stk-block-heading__text{font-size:14px !important}}<\/style><h6 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">How does GRUPO \u00c1lava&#8217;s solution benefit you?<\/h6><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this case\u2014I think it was about 2 or 3 years ago\u2014we made a fairly large purchase of <strong>thermal imaging cameras for mobile devices<\/strong>, and it has benefited us in every way, because we really haven\u2019t had any issues. I mean, we were able to talk to you, we got the cameras, and we\u2019ve had excellent <strong>support<\/strong> \u2014we\u2019ve been able to ask any questions we had, even regarding <strong>training<\/strong>. So, we\u2019re happy.    <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block stk-2ab0b4e\" data-block-id=\"2ab0b4e\"><style>.stk-2ab0b4e .stk-block-heading__text{font-size:14px !important}@media screen and (max-width:1023px){.stk-2ab0b4e .stk-block-heading__text{font-size:14px !important}}<\/style><h6 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">WHAT IS YOUR DAY-TO-DAY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT?<\/h6><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We use the cameras for <strong>substation<\/strong> inspections. In other words, when we visit a substation\u2014which we\u2019re required to do at regular intervals\u2014until now we had the option of using <strong>thermal imaging cameras<\/strong> for large equipment, but we often found that the batteries were dead or that the cameras weren\u2019t being used, and it wasn\u2019t something we\u2019d incorporated into our regular routine. Now, however, performing a thermal imaging scan is a mandatory part of that inspection, and it allows us to identify potential failures in advance that would otherwise occur. In other words, it allows us to find hot spots in the low-voltage grid, which sooner or later could lead to a <strong>power outage<\/strong>.     <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block stk-98c26e8\" data-block-id=\"98c26e8\"><style>.stk-98c26e8 .stk-block-heading__text{font-size:14px !important}@media screen and (max-width:1023px){.stk-98c26e8 .stk-block-heading__text{font-size:14px !important}}<\/style><h6 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">Does this solution help you solve problems and improve processes?<\/h6><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, it allows us to anticipate <strong>problems<\/strong> \u2014and what&#8217;s more, these are <strong>problems<\/strong> that are <strong>invisible to the human eye<\/strong>, but thanks to the technology we&#8217;re using, we can visualize them and anticipate them before anything happens.  <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block stk-5b02848\" data-block-id=\"5b02848\"><style>.stk-5b02848 .stk-block-heading__text{font-size:14px !important}@media screen and (max-width:1023px){.stk-5b02848 .stk-block-heading__text{font-size:14px !important}}<\/style><h6 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">How would you describe your experience with Grupo \u00c1lava?<\/h6><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well, my experience has always been positive. I\u2019ve always had a very close relationship with you all. Whenever I\u2019ve asked you a question, you\u2019ve responded with kindness and expertise\u2014which isn\u2019t always the case.
