The frequency of maintenance interventions is based on theoretical calculations or estimates of the lifespan of components that fail according to patterns based on operating time. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ico\" title=\"pdfIcon.gif\" src=\"https:\/\/www.preditec.com\/rep\/c8d2\/imagenes\/387502\/20\/pdficongif.png\" alt=\"pdfIcon.gif\"> <a title=\"Predictive Maintenance Strategy in Industrial Maintenance - PDF 885 Kb\" href=\"https:\/\/grupoalava.rearmachine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/la-estrategia-predictiva-en-el-mantenimiento-industrial-pdf-885-kb-1.pdf\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Predictive Maintenance (PdM) or Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM)<\/p>\n<p>Predictive or condition-based maintenance assesses the condition of machinery and recommends whether or not action should be taken, resulting in significant savings on maintenance costs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ico\" title=\"pdfIcon.gif\" src=\"https:\/\/www.preditec.com\/rep\/c8d2\/imagenes\/387502\/20\/pdficongif.png\" alt=\"pdfIcon.gif\"> <a title=\"Predictive Maintenance Strategies in Industrial Maintenance - PDF 885 Kb\" href=\"https:\/\/grupoalava.rearmachine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/la-estrategia-predictiva-en-el-mantenimiento-industrial-pdf-885-kb-1.pdf\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;] The maintenance manager is responsible for making the necessary adjustments to achieve a balance between reactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance. Although the percentages vary from one type of industrial plant to another, a general goal would be to have no more than 10% of interventions on critical machinery be reactive, approximately 35% be preventive, and the remainder (55%) be predictive. The reality at many industrial plants is quite different, which negatively impacts the plant\u2019s overall profitability.
