Quality control: One of the most critical points in the production and packaging process
Álava Ingenieros supplies hardware and software to form vision systems that enable 100% visual inspection of production, ensuring the most rigorous quality standards in a sector as critical as pharmaceuticals. Quality control in pharmaceutical processes, such as product production or packaging, is critical to guarantee final quality and regulatory compliance.

High-resolution cameras, high-precision lenses, and sophisticated image processing and analysis algorithms combine to form reliable, versatile, and easy-to-implement vision systems for the most complex production lines.
Primary phase
In a primary phase, different quality controls will be described depending on the product’s state, such as:
- Liquid: In the vial and/or syringe filling process, prior to labeling, the vision system controls for the presence of foreign bodies, product level, and correct capping.
- Solid: In the blistering processes for tablets and capsules, the system verifies the size, shape, color, and position of the product based on the inspected item.
Secondary phase
In a secondary phase, once the product is packaged, vision systems are integrated to read the pharma codes on the carton and leaflet for correct coding.
Additionally, an extra feature is available for verifying the correct coding of the individual product by OCR reading of the printed alphanumeric characters as well as reading the label code.
