Description
A Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) is a type of range used to test antenna systems at frequencies where it would be impractical to obtain far-field spacing to the AUT using traditional free-space methods. where it would be impractical to obtain far-field spacing from the AUT using traditional free-space methods. A CATR, based on a single reflector, uses a source antenna radiating a spherical wavefront and a reflector to collimate the radiated spherical wavefront into a flat wavefront within the desired test area. A CATR is used for microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies where the 2D2/λ far-field distance is large, as in the case of high-gain reflector antennas.
ASYSOL’s family of reflectors is manufactured using the most advanced and precise metal machining facilities, allowing typical surface accuracies of up to 15 μm, necessary for today’s high-frequency requirements, to be achieved. Edge diffraction is minimized through the use of carefully designed splines optimized for low frequency operation, resulting in less interference to the desired beam pattern.
