SDR-OMNI validated by AIRBUS

Airbus has validated the new SDR-OMNI “all-in-one” in-flight avionics tester for use in manufacturing operations worldwide.

Jeffrey O’Hara, President and CEO of Tel-Instrument, said: “Airbus has spent the past year conducting an in-depth competitive analysis of our new flight-line avionics tester, the SDR-OMNI. We are delighted that they have selected the SDR-OMNI for use in their manufacturing operations worldwide.”

The SDR-OMNI will replace several obsolete test systems currently in use. Airbus cited the test system’s ease of use and speed as key factors in its decision. This validates the significant investment that TIC has made in this market-leading test system. The SDR-OMNI has also been approved by Boeing, and we are in the process of having it added to their list of approved suppliers.

“We are also introducing a GPS simulator app for this avionics tester, which will be available this summer.”

Features of the SDR-OMNI Avionics Tester:

  • Modes A, C, S (EHS and ELS) Transponder with Self-Test, FAA Part 43
  • ADS-B 1090 MHz and 978 MHz UAT (IN and OUT)
  • VOR and ILS (with combined LOC, GS, and MB)
  • DME
  • HF / VHF / UHF (AM and FM) communication radios—with a “walkie-talkie” communication test mode
  • SELCAL
  • ELT (406 MHz with 121.5 MHz / 243 MHz)
  • ACAS/TCAS I/II
  • Aircraft Audio Systems (Audio Distortion)
  • VSWR / Distance to Failure (DTF) / Cable Loss
  • GPS Simulator (2nd Quarter of 2024)
