This March, we’re taking on the challenge We Are Equal, as part of the various initiatives we’re carrying out under the slogan 12 Months & 12 Challenges. We want to highlight the significant technological advances that women are currently making in the field of science.
Our colleague Rubén López has conducted several interviews with women in science, all of whom are leaders and outstanding examples of innovation. Discover their stories, journeys, and achievements.
María Viñas Peña
María Viñas Peña works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Visual Optics and Biophotonics Laboratory of the CSIC Institute of Optics, where she completed her doctoral dissertation (Ph.D. in Physical Sciences, UCM) after studying Optics and Optical Engineering at UCM. Her research focuses on the development of visual simulators to assess vision.

María Luisa López García
María Luisa López García is a Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the Complutense University of Madrid, and she balances teaching with research, her two great passions. She is one of the most recognized authorities in her field in Spain, where she is a member of the Specialized Group on Inorganic Chemistry (GEQI) of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ).

MAR MASULLI
Mar Masulli is the co-founder and CEO of BitMetrics, an artificial intelligence company founded in 2017. BitMetrics develops solutions for the automation of vision-based industrial processes, covering the entire intelligence layer required: from data acquisition via sensors to the execution of actions by the robot.

ANA SÁNCHEZ AMORES
Ana Sánchez Amores is a technologist at the Barcelona Institute of Microelectronics (IMB), where she has worked for the past 25 years in various roles at the ICTS, the IMB-CNM’s Integrated Cleanroom for Micro- and Nanomanufacturing: Head of the Dry and Wet Etching Area, Technical Deputy Director of the IMB-CNM and Head of the ICTS, and Head of the Project Office.
