Description

Thermal shock test chambers subject the samples under test to extremely abrupt temperature changes (tens of degrees in seconds), so that the materials react by rapidly expanding or contracting.

Since the responses of different materials are different to these changes, it is the ideal method for testing joints between different elements, such as those found in solder joints in electronic components, or products with different types of polymers common in the automotive industry.

In some applications, such as aeronautics or defense, it is not so much the joining of two materials that is the objective of the equipment, but the reproduction of a real situation for the product (ground-to-air or air-to-ground imply large thermal jumps in seconds).

Within the thermal shock chambers, Álava Ingenieros and its technological partner ACS present several types of solutions to offer the most suitable for each client, among which the following stand out:

  • CST: Two-room chamber with vertical or horizontal movement (depending on size) of samples by chain drive.
  • Spinner: Two-housing camera with vertical movement of samples by means of worm gear transmission. New spinner camera with 10-inch touch screen on the front of the camera and integrated Mykratos software.
  • Flapper: Chamber with one test chamber and two tempering chambers, the sample is always still and the risk of breakage of parts by vibration is eliminated, isolating the main objective of the chamber.
  • Thermal shock chamber from liquid to liquid. The movement of the baskets from one well to another (hot/cold) is electric.

    Salt fog chambers

Angelantoni's DCTC series salt spray chambers are used to simulate corrosion processes on painted and/or metallic surfaces in the laboratory. These chambers allow the performance of corrosion tests according to UNI 9399 (Filiform Corrosion) and UNI 9590 (Scab Corrosion) standards.
