Grupo Álava and Telefónica Tech are joining forces to offer a predictive maintenance solution for the industrial sector.

The solution will aim to drive the digital transformation of the industry by equipping both critical and non-critical assets with sensors and subsequently processing and analyzing the data using edge computing and big data technology.
Industrial companies will have access to an advanced data platform to optimize their operations by anticipating potential failures or defects in any type of asset (rotating engines, reciprocating machinery, electrical transformers, etc.) through a predictive maintenance plan.
The data generated by these assets will be collected by wireless sensors connected via Telefónica Tech’s LTE and 5G mobile networks, then stored and processed using Industrial Edge Computing technology. This data will be accessible via the platform. Using artificial intelligence and specific machine learning models, the platform will provide operators with guidance on how to improve the health management of production process assets, thereby extending their useful life.
This will not only optimize maintenance costs but also improve efficiency, opportunity cost, and facility performance. Furthermore, it will help enhance safety and ensure sustainability, since it will eliminate many of the trips required for unscheduled maintenance.
The solution, designed to integrate other types of technologies as well, enables companies to manage their production plants through a single interface. The demo is currently available at the Telefónica District Innovation Center in Madrid.
