The benefits of combining various predictive techniques:

It anticipates the moment when a failure is detected; in other words, it improves the P-F curve, since the most sensitive technique is used for each failure mode.

It improves diagnostic reliability, since using multiple techniques allows suspicions of a fault—which a single technique might raise—to be confirmed by applying multiple techniques.
