Today, predictive maintenance relies on the use of various technologies that maintenance departments employ to prevent the risk of machinery failures, reduce their frequency, and lower the level
by severity.
Another issue arises when selecting the appropriate analysis tools, technology, and indicators for the early detection of a failure in a rotating machine, particularly in machines that operate at low speeds. Ultrasonic technology is used to make this diagnosis, as it can be implemented easily and efficiently.
SDT International took on this challenge with a rotating machine operating at a speed of 8 RPM.
