Following maintenance work, the unit under analysis began to exhibit vibration readings in the coupling-side shaft bearing that fell within the “Risk of Damage” range as defined by applicable regulations, resulting on one occasion in the failure of the impeller shaft in the bearing area.

The pump is part of the water circulation system at a coke plant consisting of two units. The twin pump performed stably under similar operating conditions and remained in this state throughout the tests.
