On October 5 and 6, Grupo Álava will attend the Intercomparison event organized by the Spanish Network of Environmental DMAs (REDMAAS) at the INTA Atmospheric Research Station in Arenosillo, which aims to share information and knowledge to optimize the use and coordination of scientific and technological infrastructure.
Conducting joint studies among different groups allows for a better understanding of aerosol behavior in our country, making it possible to study the variability in size distribution based on location.
The instrument used was the SMPS (Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer) from our partner TSI. It consists of an electrostatic classifier, which distinguishes between aerosol sizes, and a particle counter that counts the number of particles in each size class.
The purpose of REDMAAS is to facilitate the exchange and transfer of knowledge among the groups, thereby fostering cooperation among them to promote the creation of synergies. This is achieved through a series of activities designed to ensure the quality of the measures, promote mutual assistance among the groups, and enable participation in developments in this field.
