Productive assets within the company

From a financial standpoint, we could define productive assets as all of a company’s assets that have the capacity to generate profit. In the industrial sector, these productive assets are typically, for the most part, machinery and equipment that play an active role in the production chain, either by manufacturing finished products or by contributing to their manufacture.

Given this definition, it is easy to see how important this type of asset can be on a company’s balance sheet.

The drawback of these assets is that, in order to justify their profitability, they must be guaranteed to operate reliably and continuously over time without compromising the quality standards of the products they process or manufacture; however, this proper operation will be affected by factors such as the deterioration of their components or obsolescence.

That is why effective and efficient asset management and the optimization of asset maintenance will ensure a return on your investment.
