Ultra-High-Temperature Sensors (UHT-12™) for Research and Monitoring
Vibration tests conducted on the most demanding engines require accelerometers designed to withstand extremely high-temperature environments.
For example, industrial turbine engines, aircraft gas turbines, exhaust systems, rocket propulsion systems, automotive exhaust control, catalytic converter testing, engine system testing, and brake testing. Ultra-high-temperature sensors for research and monitoring.

These high-tech accelerometers are supplied by PCB Piezotronics in partnership with Grupo Álava to provide the highest accuracy and lowest noise during extreme temperature fluctuations in the most demanding environments, thanks to the specially developed UHT-12™ crystal.
Our PCB sensors manufactured using this UHT-12™ technology deliver higher data quality compared to those made with ceramic crystal.
Among the technical advantages we can offer you:
- No pyroelectric noise spikes up to 1400 ºF (760 ºC)
- Consistent sensitivity over a wide temperature range (since sensitivity varies with temperature in conventional accelerometers)
- Shear-mode crystals isolated from the baseline deformation and transverse measurement errors.
- The glass technology is sealed in an airtight package and has demonstrated consistently high performance in hundreds of gas turbine installations for research and monitoring purposes.
High-temperature dynamic pressure sensors:
A major advantage of these UHT-12™ sensors is that they operate without cooling up to +1200 ºF (+650 ºC) in turbines. It is recommended to use heavy-duty cables for operating temperatures above +500 °F (+260 °C). In addition, the cable can be welded to the sensor for use in pressurized environments. All these features ensure highly reliable operation in high-temperature environments.
What we’d like to highlight about them:
- Hermetically sealed, laser-welded housings.
- Connectors made of cast ceramic insulation.
- Internal acceleration compensation minimizes sensitivity to vibration.
- Calibration provided at room temperature with temperature coefficients extending to operating temperatures.
