PROJECT OBJECTIVE

Integration of test bench

The objective of the project was to integrate an advanced acquisition system and combustion analysis software in the test bench of a single-cylinder engine at CMTMotores Térmicos (UPV). The aim was to have innovative tools capable of measuring and analyzing key combustion parameters, such as heat emission, detonation detection, noise analysis and generation of mathematical channels from the collected data.

How we made it happen

Data acquisition system

The solution included a data acquisition system together with Dewesoft software, integrating the combustion analysis module and an RPM encoder adapted to the specifications.

The system collected data at high speed and synchronized multiple analog sensors, digital sensors, counters, angle encoders and CAN signals, enabling complete instantaneous pressure diagnostics on a single-cylinder engine. It was also easily expandable to handle hundreds of additional channels.

The DEWESoft X3 software offered fast and intuitive configuration, allowing the engine type, number of cylinders and geometric parameters to be defined to optimize test setup time.

It supported angle- and time-based measurements, using advanced algorithms for mathematical and statistical calculations online or post-processed, allowing accurate calculation of heat release and other essential thermodynamic parameters.
