PROJECT OBJECTIVE
Improved mobility
The Barcelona City Council through its infrastructure company BIMSA begins the construction of the road underpass in Plaza de Glories. This infrastructure will improve mobility in a place of transport centralization and high traffic. For this purpose, the construction of underpasses with a North-South orientation is being carried out, divided into 4 lots.
These underpasses will cross other critical infrastructure such as commuter train lines. This crossing creates a delicate situation in an infrastructure that is in use by thousands of users.

RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Deformation analysis
We implemented a continuous monitoring system that made it possible to analyze the evolution of deformations in the slabs of the railway infrastructure during the construction of the tunnel, with measurements every meter in four cross sections.
The frequency of data acquisition was configurable, and the system proved to be reliable in minimizing risks to other infrastructure during construction.
