PROJECT OBJECTIVE

Standard instrumentation for wind turbines

Siemens Gamesa, the world leader in wind energy following the merger of Siemens and Gamesa in 2017, selected Preditec in 2019 as the instrumentation supplier for its wind turbines. After a demanding commercial, technical and quality approval process, Preditec was approved as a global supplier of sensors for all regions where Siemens Gamesa operated.

How we made it happen

Continuous monitoring

Approval was carried out in several stages: economic, technical documentation, field technical, product quality and supplier quality. The evaluation was continuous and suppliers were expected to be proactive, proposing improvements, new projects and products.

High-precision equipment was required to meet the needs of the analysts and ensure the quality of the data sent to the monitoring center. In addition, the instrumentation had to be robust to withstand variable and demanding wind, humidity and temperature conditions.

This instrumentation is able to monitor the condition of wind turbines continuously, allowing better life cycle management and its extension over time, improved reliability in terms of machine availability, optimization of operation and maintenance, better planning of interventions, reduction of inventory, reduction of catastrophic failures and improvement of wind farm safety.
