Description
The practical course on ultrasonic pickup and detection is oriented to the theoretical and practical learning of ultrasonic pickup technology, as well as the necessary considerations to be taken into account during mechanical, electrical and leak testing inspection.
*Prerequisites: No previous knowledge or experience is required.
Free registration to the practical course on ultrasound acquisition and detection with the purchase of an SDT 200 or 270.
Objectives
The objective of this course is to train the maintenance technician for the proper selection of the technology and sensors to be used for the proper ultrasonic detection. At the end of the training the technician must be able to select the right sensor and the right measurement for a good measurement, and to perform the diagnosis of the detected failure.

- Fundamentals of sound and ultrasound
- Ultrasound types and applications. Measurement and recording possibilities.
- Practical considerations. Types of sensors. Choosing the right sensor.
- Static vs. dynamic measurement. Diagnostic tools.
- Mechanical Inspection: Condition monitoring, Lubrication control.
- Leak detection: Leaks in pipelines, leaks in steam traps, leak tests.
- Electrical inspection: Electrical fault detection, arcing, corona effect and tracking.
- Practical guide and historical examples.
