Dynamic balancing of rigid shaft rotors
PRE-7150 Theoretical and practical course for the diagnosis and correction of balancing problems in rigid shaft rotors for on-site correction.
Description
The course on Dynamic Balancing of Rigid Shaft Rotors is oriented to the diagnosis of unbalance and its correction in rigid (subcritical) rotors, using portable tools for the calculation of compensation weights by the Influence Coefficient Method (ICM).
The course has a duration of 7 hours and is structured in 3 thematic blocks.

Objectives
The objective of this course is to train the maintenance technician to identify unbalance problems, differentiate them from other faults that produce symptoms similar to those of unbalance problems and their correction using a vibration analyzer with vibration and phase measurements.
Syllabus
- Theory and diagnosis of imbalance. Basic concepts. Causes of imbalance. Problems that manifest themselves at the same frequency as the imbalance.
- Balancing of rigid rotors. Static and dynamic unbalance. ISO-1940 standards on residual unbalance. Balancing methods. Definition of test weight. Balancing in one plane. Balancing in two planes. Techniques for balancing cantilever shafts.
- Case studies. Balancing examples.
